SIR,
Enclosure 2
BOTA TO GAROKE.
Hong-Kong, 03rd July, 1894.

I have the honour to inform the Government that the collecting of caterpillars and cocoons is now finished.
Only 400 catties of cocoons were brought in after the 10th instant, to date of 13th Report on the subject to His Excellency the Governor.
The advance of $8,000 for the work has not been exceeded, and the plague has been, at any rate for the present, effectually dealt with.
I would like to tender my thanks to the Captain Superintendent of Police for the very great assistance which he has given this department in the matter. Without this assistance it would have been almost impossible to have carried out the work in a satisfactory manner.
